Presented by Artback NT, Fecund: Fertile Worlds is the first exhibition to be produced as a result of the SPARK curatorial program. The SPARK program is an Artback NT initiative, and aims to foster curatorial practice in the Northern Territory. In 2017 The Godinymayin Centre’s Curator, Clare Armitage was named the inaugural SPARK curator. Over the subsequent year Fecund: Fertile Worlds was developed, and is now touring the Northern Territory until March 2019.

This exhibition showcases artists from the NT and across Australia whose work addresses the deep relationship between humans and the natural world. Fecund, meaning highly fertile or abundant new growth, presents a collection of contemporary works that inspire conversation and contemplation about our capacity for renewal. Fecund generates a unique opportunity for creative dialogue and will feature artist and curator talks.
