Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre in Katherine is looking for casual Centre Assistants to join our team. The part-time positions will help in our reception desk, retail shop, and venue activities — Hourly rate of $30.61. Godinymayin Centre Assistants support the operations of the Centre by:
· Assisting with general Centre activities such as retail sales, exhibition support, and event/function set-up
· Serving as reception to welcome visitors and shoppers to the Centre – attend to their needs, answer queries, give directions and provide general information
· When needed, working as a hospitality assistant during events, helping in the preparation, service of food and drinks and packing up after events have finished
· Assisting Centre staff with other duties as requested
· Able to work a rotating roster including morning afternoon evening shifts and weekends.
To excel in the role of Centre Assistant, you will:
· Have an interest in Visual and Performing Arts.
· Hold or be willing to obtain a Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate.
· Have friendly people skills and a helpful nature.
· Be able to support public events and centre activities.
· Have sound judgement in dealing with the public.
· Experience in operating a cash register, retail sales, and computer skills.
· Be well presented, bring a customer focus, and work as part of a small team.
· Ability to multi-task, highly adaptable to change and ambiguity.
· Demonstrable track record in leading delivery of reception services.
