January 2023 Construction Update
The ground is broken, and the diggers are shaking things up! After a December arrival, the team at Katherine Constructions are hard at work—and our Arts Trail expansion is now well underway. Earth works are happening all around Godinymayin, and visitors will see signs of the transformation ahead.
Foundation work has begun on the Northern Territory’s newest amphitheatre, as well as our future outdoor deck and new office space. Work is also underway to transform the Centre’s entrance—with demolition of the existing vestibule to make way for the a new side stairway connecting to the parking area below, a sweeping new roofline, and relocation of the iconic rock wallaby sculpture that welcomes our visitors.
Godinymayin continues to remain open, with our staff, shop, and galleries ready to welcome you back for 2023. On view through 17 March in our Lambert Gallery, don’t miss Mandy Tootell’s brilliant birdlife exhibition Territory Blue. And stay tuned for our International Women’s Day photography portrait exhibition coming in March!
