1. The Katherine Prize now accepts 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional work in a range of media. We are unable to accept audio visual work, performance art or installation pieces.  

2. Art work must be professionally presented with appropriate installation devices, ready to display

3. Artist’s name and title must be clearly labelled on back or underside of artworks

4. We actively consult and communicate openly with members of the local Indigenous community in order to establish Indigenous cultural perspectives on all exhibitions, particularly regarding the presentation of images and voices of Indigenous people. Your work may be subject to cultural consultation and approval.

Work NOT meeting these criteria may not be accepted or displayed.

Entries close 5pm Friday 5th July 2019. Forms must be submitted by this time for work to be included.

All work must be delivered in business hours between Monday 8th July – Friday 12th July 2019.

Works cannot be accepted earlier due to storage restrictions.

Conditions of entry - Please read carefully

1. Entrants must have been bona fide residents of the Northern Territory at least 12 months preceding July 2019.

2. Entries must be original work of the exhibitor and must have been completed during the 12 months preceding July 2019.

3. Entries must not have been publicly exhibited previously in Katherine.

4.   Entries must not have won any art or other award within the Northern Territory.

5. Artworks must relate to the Northern Territory, this can be in materials, concept or subject matter.

6. The Godinymayin Centre reserves the right to consider, but not necessarily exhibit all works submitted.

7. A fee of $25.00 is required per entry and proof of payment must accompany the entry form.

8. Entrants may submit a maximum of two works, however, the second work will only be included subject to available space, with preference given to entries from Katherine residents. Works not displayed will be eligible for a refund of their entry fee. 

9. Entries must be clearly marked with the title, artist’s name, medium, sale price inclusive of GST, date of completion, and address for the return of work.

10. All entries must be available for sale and a 27.5% commission will be retained on all work sold.

11. All entrants shall allow their work to be reproduced for promotional purposes.     

12. Entries close 5pm Friday 5th July 2019. Forms must be submitted by this time for work to be included.

13. All work must be delivered in business hours between Monday 8th July – Friday 12th July 2019. Work should be delivered to Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre, Lot 3238, Stuart Highway, Katherine East NT 0850

14. The entrant shall be responsible for all freight and insurance costs to and from the exhibition.

15. Entries must be packed securely for transit and in a manner suitable for safe re-packing. Any re-packing cost incurred will be charged to the exhibitor.

16. Works will be covered by appropriate insurance while housed at Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre.

17. All work must be collected within 7 days of the exhibition finishing 14th September 2019. Any uncollected work will be disposed of in accordance with the NT Disposal of Goods Act.

18. The judges appointed will be the only arbiters and their decision is final.

19. Any conflict arising out of or in connection with these conditions of entry will be decided by the Godinymayin Centre whose decision shall be final.

20. Entries MUST NOT exceed 1.5 metres in any direction including frames, stands and bases.

21. Hanging works MUST NOT exceed 25 Kilograms

22. Entry fees WILL NOT be refunded. (Except in circumstances detailed in Condition 8)
