Friday 14 August from 6:30pm

Join us this August as we welcome home Katherine singer and
songwriter, C.W Stoneking. Born in Katherine in the mid 1970s, C.W. is
returning for a special concert in celebration of the Katherine Centenary with local singer and songwriter Katie Oliver.

C.W. Stoneking is an Australian/American singer, musician, recording artist.  He has lived and toured across Australia, the UK, Europe, and the U.S.A. He has independently released 3 critically acclaimed original full length albums, King Hokum, Jungle Blues, and Gon’ Boogaloo. He’s performed extensively internationally with various backing band lineups and as a solo performer, the instrumentation of his musical groups and recordings mirror the stylistic inspirations of his songwriting, New Orleans style brass and drums, Traditional African, Caribbean style percussion, early 20th century blues, jazz, and American folk styled guitar and banjo, gospelinspired electric guitar and background singing…

Australian-born country and folk artist Kate Oliver sings with the depth and beauty of the Katherine River, the lifeblood of the town she calls home. Kate is a traveler; making her way all over outback Australia while working, sharing stories, writing songs and playing music. From roadworks camps across the Tanami and Plenty Hwys to the seaside haven of Newcastle in NSW and beyond, if you’re lucky you’ll find Kate in a bar, on a back porch or sitting round a campfire, guitar in hand, ready to regale you with universal tales of life and love irrevocably intertwined with the feeling of the Australian bush, the bounce of her beloved truck over long and dusty corrugated roads informing the rhythms of her songs. Kate’s rich and earthy voice and nostalgic delivery will take any audience on a journey through the raw back country Kate knows all too well.

Join us as we welcome C.W. and Kate Oliver to the Godinymayin stage and celebrate 100 years of Katherine!
