Kamahi Djordon King is a Gurindji man.  Born in Katherine NT Kamahi Grew up with Artists all around him.  His style is influenced from his Brother William King Both are Jungala.  Kamahi started painting in his teenage years and only considered himself as an artist when he sold his first piece at the age of 18.  Since then Kamahi has been experimenting with colour and optical illusions mainly using lines for his art he has now started experimenting with dots.

Kamahi is a multimedia artist getting into sculpture with a recipe of paper clay that he has concocted recycling the paper we shred here in the office.  Kamahi’s work is always associated with nature as you can see by the title of the works.

Next year in 2022 Kamahi will be working with Glass with Megan Bottari down in Wyndham NSW and through the Canberra School of Glass.
 
Kamahi was the winner of the Victorian Indigenous Art Awards. Best work on Paper for his lifesize print of Constantina Bush titled Attack of the Fifty foot Black Gin.
 
Since then Kamahi has had Solo exhibitions in Melbourne at the Koorie Heritage Trust, Werribee and at The Aboriginal and Modern Art Gallery in South Yarra.  Group Exhibitions have included international touring Exhibition travelling throughout Europe as a part of a collective of some of the best Aboriginal Artists in Australia.
 
This will be Kamahi’s fourth solo Exhibition.
