41st Katherine Prize

This annual event encourages Indigenous and non-Indigenous residents of the Northern Territory to develop their art practice and showcase their skill to the region.

The 41st Katherine Prize was judged by Dr Wendy Garden, Curator of Australian Art at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.

We are pleased to announce the winners:

Winner of the $5,000 Brian and Jeanette Lambert Art Award is Pennyrose Wiggins with Roadtrip, painted on a found car bonnet.

Godinymayin Youth Award winners:
Winner of the $50 Kindy to Year 5 group is MacFarlane Primary School student Rhiannah Brown with Stormy Day

Highly commended:
Casuarina Street Primary School students Holly Iszlaub, Bird of Paradiseand Cooper Wegman, Strike and Stormy.

Winner of the $100 Year 10 – Year 12 group is Katherine High School student Hayley Lye and her work Elephant at Dawn. 

The winner of the People’s Choice Award will be announced at the end of the exhibition period.
