Here at Godinymayin we are excited to announce that the iconic Katherine Prize Awards are planned for Friday 3 November, with the exhibition on view through 22 December. The Katherine Prize is the Territory’s longest running visual art award, and invites visual artists of all disciplines to enter—including emerging and first-time participants. Over $7500 in awards will be given, made possible by our generous sponsors Julie and Geoffrey Newton and Katherine Town Council.

Submissions are open now and will close on 15 October, with all entries to be dropped off at Godinymayin between 16 and 25 October. To enter the 48th Katherine Prize and review the conditions of entry, follow the link below.

Submissions Due By Date (for entry forms): 5pm Sunday October 15
Artwork Drop Off Window: 9am Monday 16 October – 5pm Wednesday 25 October
Installation of Katherine Prize: Monday 30 October – Thursday 2 October
Judging and Opening night: Friday 3 November
Closing Date: Friday 22 December

Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre’s exhibition and gallery sales are bound by consignment agreements developed with Arts Law Centre of Australia. We follow ethical standards and practices when dealing with Aboriginal art and artists.
