Don’t miss the next creative development opportunity at Godinymayin. Join artist and teacher Sarah Falkenberg-Hassan for a uniquely holistic and inviting workshop that explores collage and abstract art making. Perfect for the beginner, but suitable for the more advanced as well, this 5 August opportunity will begin with abstract design and composition, and move on to the development of your own artwork.

“Abstract art is about finding an image and zooming into it, discovering new images and meaning in the process,” she explains. Follow Sarah through a colour meditation, visualisation exercises, and an investigation into new colour palettes—before diving into a painting two artworks, using layers of acrylic paint to develop your ideas.

For those who attended Sarah’s last workshop at Godinymayin you can expect to spend more time focusing on just two canvases and to learn more technical skills. Come get lost in your creative side and reconnect with your imagination.

Snacks and light refreshments provided.

More about the Workshop Artist
Sarah Falkenberg-Hassan is a practicing visual artist originally from the UK. Sarah’s practice has taken her around the world where she has been commissioned for murals in 15 countries, including Morocco, China, Honduras, and the Galapagos Islands.  As an artist Sarah’s work emerges through her interaction with the environment around her, in particular through the natural world and the calming effects of the setting sun. Despite having a 4-year Art Degree under her belt, Sarah has learned the most from her exploration of mediums and styles through travel and her experiences among different cultures. A particular connection to the abstract manifests itself in Sarah interpretation of the world. “I look at some rocks and I might see that one has been moved. I look at where the rock was, the gap it has left. It inspires me to think about the story of where the rock has gone and how it got there.” Sarah’s practice is all about going with the flow and encouraging others, through creative expression, to learn from and embrace life’s experiences.
