Banatjarl Strongbala Wimun Hosting New Community Engagement Space

Conversation, culture, and community at the heart of Katheirne! For the next six weeks, the Banatjarl Strongbala Wimun Grup is turning a vacant shop at the Katherine’s Central into an interactive Community Engagement Space. Doors will be open from 26 September until 20 October from 9am to 3pm. So stop in and connect with Jawoyn leaders, learn from Elders, and have a cuppa.Â
Both Banatjarl Wimun Grup and Mungguy Mans Grup will be there to share cultural activities, like making bush medicine and weaving (and some items will also be for sale). The pop-up project is being led by the Banatjarl Strongbala Wimun, in collaboration with Activate Katherine and Godinymayin Yijards Rivers Art and Culture Centre and Activate Katherine, and proudly supported by the Northern Territory Government.
