Bilarniis storytelling theatre from one of Australia’s renowned storyteller musicians, Jan ‘Yarn’ Wositzky. The show tracks the life of WE (Bill) Harney (1895–1962): the greatest yarn-spinner of them all; the man who was known as the ‘expert’ on Aborigines; an ‘uneducated’ Northern Territory bushman who returned from WW1 to live amongst Aborigines as a lover, husband and father who lost it all – and that’s only the beginning of a truly epic tale. Using Harney’s books and radio broadcasts, Bilarniis deftly strung together with Jan ‘Yarn’ Wositzky’s adventures ‘up north’ in a beautiful and brutal land, where everything and nothing is black and white.
* Bill Harney is the father of Wardaman elder Yidumduma Bill Harney.
