We’re doing it again!

Let’s break some bread and muster for a meal in the thick of the Dry Season—and learn all about the 2023 Darwin Festival program.

Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre has organised another informal lunch to bring people together over food and conversation—and the festival’s Artistic Director Kate Fell is our guest of honour.

We’ve again partnered with one of our favourite places, Contour Hotel, to serve a most delicious culinary buffet. Everyone is invited: artists, organisation managers, civic leaders, educators, musicians, museum people, story-tellers, board members, and those who care about the creative life of the Top End and Katherine Region.

A place at the luncheon table is $25 and can be reserved by clicking below.

A Deliciously Informal Way to Connect

The idea for the Creative Community Luncheon began one year ago, when local arts and community leaders decided to convene an informal meal at the Contour Hotel restaurant. About 40 people showed up, and enjoyed a buffet lunch and plenty of new conversations. It was a great mix of people and ideas (and food), and we think it’s time to convene one again—this time we’ve invited Darwin Festival Artistic Director Kate Fell to be our special guest.

As our community grows and changes, we think it is important to bring people together and share conversations, ideas, and friendship—without formalities and expected order of business. Let’s unplug from the digital world, break from the agenda, and emerge from our separate offices on 5 July and learn about the upcoming festival program.

Great things can happen when we break bread together, talk, and make new connections! So join us for this casual and friendly lunch on Wednesday 5 July at Contour Hotel—and feel free to invite a friend, local artists, a favourite cultural leader, the neighbourhood brass band, elected leaders, and any others who inspire you this Dry Season.
