An evening in the amphitheatre with singer songwriter Fred Smith
Network Tindal and Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture present singer-songwriter Fred Smith.
Much loved for his gentle wit and gift for story and melody, Fred has been a favourite performer on the Australian festival circuit for years. In concert, he has the unique ability to bring to life the human complexities of the peace keeping operations he’s been involved with.
Fred was the first Australian diplomat to be posted to Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan in 2009 and the last to leave in 2013. He draws on this experience, performing a powerful collection of songs which describe the realities of life for the soldiers and civilians involved in this difficult war.
50% of proceeds from the concert will go to NT Legacy.
Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre would like to acknowledge that we are situated on Aboriginal Land and pay our respects to the Dagoman, Jawoyn and Wardaman people and their Elders both past and present.
