Pop-Up Community Gallery at The Oasis Shopping Centre

A pop-up expansion to our exhibition Big and Deep Rivers: Inspiring Women of Katherine
Category: Art
Registrations for this event have closed.

To expand the reach of our 2023 International Women’s Day project, Big and Deep Rivers even further, we’ve formed a partnership with The Oasis Katherine shopping centre—the most popular place in town—and have installed a dozen large-scale portraits from the exhibition. This pop-up community gallery is directly opposite from the Woolworth’s check-out, and provides a passive look at our region’s inspiring women. Stop and have a look the next time you are out and about!

Thanks to the owners of the property, Godinymayin has transformed this vacant commercial space to use as a creative platform and visual arts looking glass. We are grateful to The Oasis management for this support—and for extending our International Women’s Day project to thousands of residents and visitors over the coming weeks and months.

Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre’s exhibition and gallery sales are bound by consignment agreements developed with Arts Law Centre of Australia. We follow ethical standards and practices when dealing with Aboriginal art and artists.
