Registrations for this event have closed.

Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre, in partnership with Katherine Museum and Katherine & District Show Society, presents the remarkable story of stockman and Katherine icon, Sabu Sing, at the Katherine Show.

Come down to the Art Pavilion and learn the fascinating story of how Sabu Sing, son of a Wardaman mother and a Chinese father, and raised by a station manager, came to find love and become master horseman as he navigated his cross-cultural world. Eventually being immortalised as the bronze sculpture overlooking Katherine.

Thank you to Dorothy Sing, wife of Sabu and ‘Sing Collection’ owner, for granting us permission to display these historic photographs.

Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre’s exhibition and gallery sales are bound by consignment agreements developed with Arts Law Centre of Australia. We follow ethical standards and practices when dealing with Aboriginal art and artists.
