Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre
The place to meet in the Katherine region for Art & Culture Visual Art Music Drama Dance Workshops
Our vision is of a community connected through the recognition and understanding of its separate and shared histories and strengthened through the sharing of its art and living cultures.
Our purpose is nurturing, developing and promoting the creative and cultural spirit of the Katherine Region and providing a gathering space for all.
Our beautiful main gallery hosts visual arts exhibitions showcasing the work of Northern Territory Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists. We curate exhibitions in-house and host national touring exhibitions.
K Space is a gallery dedicated to showcasing work from our region and is designed to provide learning opportunities for individual artists, groups and organisations through small professional exhibitions.
Our performing arts venue hosts an exciting array of music, dance, cabaret, comedy and drama. Performances showcase local talent, tell local stories or provide opportunities for our community to experience the best in touring productions.
We are underpinned by a ‘two way’ learning philosophy. That is we reflect and tell the stories about the unique cultures of the Katherine region including those that have developed from Indigenous and non-Indigenous perspectives.
